"Good Company"
Original Oil On Canvas, 18" X 30" US$ 4,500.00 Sold

Elephants are gregarious creatures, always seeking out the company of a close companion. These elephants have weathered a long dry season. The expected rains are late in coming. The mopani belt becomes dry and less sustainable and they have spent much time doing the rounds of known waterholes that are slowly drying up. At this waterhole, the water is fast evaporating. They will have a drink and muddy themselves as a cooling aid and then move on to the next shrinking source where the ground could be dry and parched and beyond any use at all. That same evening, as the sun dipped below the horison, I observed the thunder clouds rolling in, it was with great relief that I watched these two lifelong companions rejoice in the promise of a new season of abundance.
