High Country is leopard country - the ever elusive mystery of the African wilderness. Here, bordering Mozambique, where massive rocky outcrops reach up to the heavens, is where you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of this super predator. As we fumbled our way around the base of these rocks, where thorny scrub stood sentry, on glancing up, were taken by surprise by the magnificent specimen posing above us. He watched us with some disdain, knowing that should we approach too closely, he would slip silently away into the depths of his sanctuary.
